The Magic of Auteur Cinema: Made LUCID!

There are many different ways to categorize films.

Genre is one of the most basic and often detrimental ways to categorize.

“It’s a sci-fi thriller.” This tells me nothing about the level of consciousness behind it. It could be a complete waste of time…or it could be a brilliant masterpiece.

Age appropriate ratings: More often than not this decribes how immature the film creators are. It’s an inverse scale because it actually requires more maturity to make a G or PG film than it typically requires to make a rated R film. This is of course not a “rule” because there are many brilliant rated R films. This ratings system is very superficial.

Many poorly executed films are made by committee. n this case, the “director” is a random name lost in the credits.

The polar opposite of this would be an auteur film, which is specifically a representation of the taste of an individual author.

There are high-concept films, there are epics, and thenthe most amazing films tend to be a combination of both of these.

The confusion created by all of these various ways of splitting things up is solved by our LUCID ratings system. This goes straight to the heart of the issue.

Each writer and each director hass a storytelling style (you can take our free quiz) and a level of consciousness.

They are then able to create certain types of films within their consciousness range. This tells us right away what the potential is without needing superficial stats about the genre or the age. These things are relevant but have been artificially made to be higher in value than they actually are.

Yes this is triggering to have your consciousness evaluated. I get it. That’s why I have to say “Only the brave need apply.” Most people take their triggers personally instead of prioritizing their desire to grow. The people who desire to actually grow are the ones who can tolerate my message. It takes a genuine humility and the skill of pressing pause on pride and discomfort.

This year, we are facilitating the cultivation of increasing this most valuable skill in auteur filmmakers. Nothing else like this exists. Reach out if you can see the value of this.
